No time, like the Present!

This Week was a very good week on my island. we had heaps of fun and inspiring things happen. It all started with Elain. Elain is a 21 year old Kai loma. Kai loma means that her blood is so mixed you can't really tell her nationality. She lives with a member so we have been working with her for a bit. She is way cool but she never ever reads the scriptures... way frustrating. However I am the son of the two best teachers I've met so knew what to do. I gave he homework. It wasn't enough for Elain to just read. So I told her to read and then summarize.. she was taken back at first. A little upset for the treatment as a small child. so she took the challenge out of spite! and we came on thursday to check. The first question was did you read?she however said no...I was sad. but... she then came back with a book and said  "boom suck it!" it was a weird thing but I was so hyped... slowly slowly moves the oxen but toward zion she does drive... ( don't know if that's a song but it should be!)
We also had some funny times with members one was brotha Dunn, he told a story about a texan he met that was way rich and would give him stuff. hearing this I apologize for having no money... he laughed a bit, looked down at the no bake cookies we brought. and said "yeah no money, but at least you bring cookies!"  Then little pearl, she is the child of two return missionaries. she is adorable and loves happy screaming when she sees her favorite short elder! on Sunday she was wearing yellow and I made fun of her to her mom. and she told me it was her, pearl, favorite color. and I realized it was my moms favorite color as well so she told me to take a picture...
Two  people really built up my faith this week one was Lily, she is our investigator and she has been fighting baptism. What she didn't realize However is that Texans don't give up that easy so I went and with my persistence and the powerful testimony of elder smith and finally her husband. allowed just enough space for the spirit to change he life and on Sunday she was baptized by her husband and counted among the saints in the church! really great first baptism for elda smith.
The final one is simple but hit me hard, I want on exchanges on friday, and it was way way english...which is rough for me. But the one lesson that I got to speak fijian, I felt something I want to share with all of you. We taught a "short spiritual thought" that turned into a big long come to Jesus by baptism lesson. It was amazing, because I had met Lisa for one day and by the end of the lesson I testified that if she wanted eternal life only God could give her that through his Son Jesus Christ. But this wasn't the cool part. the cool part is how I felt about her. I didn't see her as a lesson, or a bap date extended. No, I saw her as Jesus sees her. She wasn't Lisa, lami 2nd's investigator. she was my sister and I wanted what's best for her. Not because of Numbers or praise of men, but because That is what our Heavenly Father wanted for her. and he used me to relate that love to her.
This week I give a challenge to all of you to look at those you meet everyday every hour every minute and pray to heavenly father to help you see them as He sees them and then act on what the spirit tells you to do. you well see his hand. I know because I have seen and I have seen because of faith and obedience to that same spirit. I love you all very much! keep up the good work! be strong and keep drivin.
